The car that invented the supercar, in its final and most developed SV form.
The car that invented the supercar. One of roughly 150 SVs built, finished in Arancio Miura with the transverse 3.9L V12 behind the cabin. Currently on exhibition; available to productions by arrangement with the owner.
Model background
The Miura placed a V12 transversely behind the cabin at a time when almost every fast road car still carried its engine in front. It set the template that mid-engined supercars have followed ever since.
The SV was the last and most developed version, built in small numbers at the end of the run. Its bodywork was designed at Bertone by Marcello Gandini while he was still in his twenties.
Design and character
The SV dropped the eyelash trim around the headlamps and gained wider rear arches, giving it a broader, more planted stance than earlier cars. Finished in Arancio Miura, it is one of the most photographed shapes in automotive design.
This car is currently on exhibition and is made available to productions by arrangement with the owner.
Historical significance
The Miura is widely regarded as the first modern supercar. Its transverse mid-mounted V12 layout changed what a fast road car was expected to look like and how it was expected to be built.
The SV was the final development of that idea, produced in small numbers at the end of the model's run.
Why productions choose it
As a design object the Miura is instantly recognisable, which makes it effective in single hero frames, product-style photography and title sequences.
Because the car is currently on exhibition, dates need to be arranged with the owner in advance; early notice gives the best chance of securing it.
On camera
Notes for directors, DPs and photographers planning to put this car in frame.
- Extremely low roofline — worth planning camera height and rigging points in advance.
- Arancio orange is a strong colour accent; consider it against neutral or concrete backdrops.
- Exhibition commitments mean dates should be discussed as early as possible.
