FAQ

The questions everyone asks.

If yours isn't here, write to us.

Most of the questions we receive come from producers, line producers and photographers planning a shoot in and around New York City. The answers below cover how the collection works, what we need from you before a car can be confirmed, and how delivery is handled on the day.

Marque Vault Classic is operated by Metromotion Productions INC, which negotiates directly with the owners of the cars and passes pricing and contract terms transparently between owner and renter. That is why availability, rates and final terms are always confirmed by the owner rather than published as a fixed list.

Rentals, bookings and logistics

What kinds of classic cars are in the collection?

The collection is built around European grand tourers and American classics of the 1950s through the early 1970s — marques such as Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Ford and Chevrolet. Each car is presented with its own page listing year, engine, transmission, colour and current status, so you can see exactly what is in the vault before you write to us.

Who can rent a car?

Production houses only, with proper insurance in place. We review the certificate of insurance before confirming any rental.

Are the vehicles available for film and television productions?

Yes. Film and television work is the core of what we do. Cars are used as picture vehicles, background dressing and hero cars, and every vehicle is inspected before release so it arrives on set ready to shoot.

Can the cars be used for photography, advertising and editorial shoots?

Yes. The picture cars are regularly booked for commercials, advertising photography, fashion editorials, music videos and period productions. Tell us the format and we will suggest the vehicles that suit the frame.

How do I inquire about a specific vehicle?

Open the vehicle's page in The Fleet and use the inquiry link there, or write to info@metromotion.com. Naming the exact car helps us check its schedule immediately rather than going back and forth.

What information should I include in a production inquiry?

The vehicle or vehicles you have in mind, your shoot dates and call times, the location or locations, the type of production, the company or production house booking, and anything unusual you are planning with the car. The more precise the brief, the faster the quote.

How does the inquiry and approval process work?

You send the brief, we confirm whether the car is free on your dates, and we negotiate terms directly with the owner. Marque Vault Classic is operated by Metromotion Productions INC, which acts as the booking broker and passes pricing and contract terms transparently between owner and renter. Once the certificate of insurance is reviewed and terms are agreed, the booking is confirmed. We reply to inquiries within one business day.

Is insurance included?

Yes. Every rental includes full commercial coverage. Your personal policy is not required and is not used.

What does a rental cost?

Rates are quoted on request. Pricing depends on the vehicle, the length of the booking, the location and the nature of the production, and is confirmed by the owner as part of the quote. We do not publish standard rate cards.

How long can we book a vehicle for?

Available for daily, weekend, or weekly rentals (2-day minimum on select models). Extended and multi-week stays can be arranged upon request. All reservation terms are finalized and confirmed directly by the owner.

Where do you deliver?

We deliver to custom locations. Logistics, delivery options, and associated costs will be tailored and finalized based on your specific location and event schedule. Professional delivery: vehicles delivered directly by a professional driver. Distance-based fees: rates calculated based on delivery location distance. Tolls & fuel: gasoline and toll expenses are billed additionally.

What area do you serve?

New York City and a 25-mile radius as standard. Longer distances can be arranged with custom professional transport, covered by the rental client. Visits to see a vehicle in person are by appointment.

How far in advance should we book?

As early as your schedule allows. Some cars are reserved, in maintenance, or on exhibition at any given time, and those commitments are confirmed by the owner, so early notice gives us the best chance of securing the exact vehicle you want.

What if something happens to the car?

All productions and renters are required to provide comprehensive commercial general liability and auto insurance coverage prior to rental confirmation. Any damages, loss, or liabilities incurred during the rental period are covered under the production company's active policy.

Can you customize a build?

No.

Can I bring my own driver or photographer?

You are permitted to drive or deliver the vehicle to the production site. Please note that taking photos on set requires prior confirmation and approval from the production company managing the rental.
